Pivot Airlines starts a new collaboration with COVID-19 testing partner, Strato Labs
Pivot Airlines is pleased to announce we have collaborated with testing partner, Strato Labs, to offer rapid pre-flight COVID-19 testing for all passengers upon request. Test results will usually be available within eight hours, and rush results may be available in as little as four hours.
Strato Labs, an Ontario based Company, utilizes the Hyris bCube system, a Health Canada approved system for point-of-care PCR testing for COVID-19. The Hyris bCube system is also one of three PCR testing systems approved for the Alberta quarantine reduction pilot program based out of the Calgary International Airport (YYC).
Our employees' and passengers' health and safety is our top priority. We are committed to providing you with a safe travel experience. To achieve this, we follow the guidance of all relevant health authorities and the best demonstrated practices in the Aviation industry. We are pleased to offer this rapid pre-flight COVID -19 testing program in addition to our current practices such as thorough disinfection and sanitation of our aircraft using industry-leading techniques and products, including electrostatic disinfection for all cabin surfaces. Pivot Airlines is proud to continue to offer charter flights to our essential service customers; we believe rapid testing is the first step to normalizing air travel in a COVID-19 environment. Along with the positive news around the global distribution of a vaccine, rapid testing will help kick start air travel and, by extension, the economy.
On September 15, 2020, Pivot signed an agreement with the Region of Waterloo Regional International Airport to begin regional air service to several points. Although no dates were announced, two of the key trigger points were widely approved and available rapid testing and the mass distribution of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. With our collaboration with Strato Labs and the approval and planned distribution by the Government of both the Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines, we are excited about the expected return of air travel and the opportunity to serve you.
We believe the regional airline market has changed, and we look forward to providing critical service to points within Ontario and Quebec. About Strato Labs: Strato Labs offers local, private molecular diagnostic testing of individuals, staff, employers, and locations for Sars-CoV-2 COVID-19, which causes the COVID-19 virus, delivering reliable detection results within 2 hours plus pipetting time. Strato Labs utilizes Health Canada approved PCR tests and equipment. It should be noted that there are varying requirements required for COVID-19 testing in different jurisdictions, and as such, it is important that the end-user confirms that the results produced by Strato Labs will meet the requirements of the destination jurisdiction prior to travel.
